What Conyers is actually like
Conyers grew up as a railroad watering post named for Dr. Conyers, with about 400 residents by 1854, the year it was incorporated. Rockdale County was formed in 1870, mostly out of Newton County, and named for the granite bedrock beneath the area's red clay soil; Conyers is the county's only incorporated city and its seat.
